Frequently asked questions

What are the key dates for Renewal of Registration?

There are two dates:

  • The Renewal Date is that where an application lodged after the date attracts an additional "late" fee. The Renewal Date is shown on the AHPRA registration.
  • The De-Registration Date is ONE MONTH after the Renewal Date. Applications are NOT ACCEPTED after this date. The Doctor is de-registered and cannot practice. The Doctor needs to lodge a new application for registration. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Once the renewal application is LODGED BEFORE the De-registration date the current registration remains in place for AS LONG AS AHPRA takes to process the renewal.

Evidence of current AHPRA registration can be found in the module 4PR350.

How do choose which AHPRA pathway?

The AHPRA pathway is part of the Due Diligence phase (4PR105).

AND also refer to 4PR300 for guidance.

What are the rules regarding appointment of Temporary Supervisors?

For more details on Supervisors and Supervision Levels refer to 4PR355.

But in summary:
  • Appointment of a temporary principal supervisors REQUIRES APPROVAL by AHPRA before they take up the role.
  • Appointment of temporary co-supervisors DOES NOT REQUIRE AHPRA approval.
  • Temporary supervisors and co-supervisors can be appointed by the principal supervisor.
